Did any of them happen to say “hooked on phonics not work for me?”

Sorry, but I gotta call BS on your whole question!

Robert asks…

What is the best viewing order for the Star Wars movies?

I understand everything about the movies, seen a couple, played the video game, ( I was a 90′s kid, understood everything from my Nintendo-yes,old school-) and I wanted to start and seriously watch all of the movies, but what do YOU personally think is the best order to watch them- chronologically (starting with the Original Trilogy then Prequels) or by the order of episodes- so Episode I, II, IV etc.

I just want YOUR personal opinion.

Mac answers:

Yay! Another Star Wars fan <3

Anyway, I think that the best is to watch them by the order of episodes. I mean, there is a reason why the episodes are in this order!

Happy viewing :)

Donna asks…

I use to write stories and draw comics when I was 8, then my parents bought me a nintendo 64?

Got super psyched about video-games and never let go until 10 years later. Now I’m 19 and I’m never getting that time back. Time I could have spent perfecting other more practical skills instead of collecting giant bananas and fighting idiotic alligators with stupid monkeys. My subconscious is full of garbage. I should have played a sport, played an instrument, drawn a little more, learn a dance, or anything that I could take to the grave for that matter. Am I the only kid that got his head screwed up by this consumer culture?

Mac answers:

You’ve been playing the N64 all this time? Geeez it’s good but not THAT good. You’re still young, maybe a fifth of the way through your life for all you know. Get drawing!

Your Questions About Nintendo Video Games Online

Betty asks…

What are some good video games I might be able to buy?

Well I have a Play Station 2, an Xbox 360, a Nintendo Wii, a Nintendo DS, and a gaming computer. I like strategy games, RPG games, adventure games, and fighting games. I don’t like the real type of shooter games, like Call of Duty, but I do like Halo, which are non-real. I have 100 dollars to spend. Any suggestions? Online games work fine as well.

Mac answers:

World of Warcraft, but to start an account you need alot more than 100 dollars, you got to buy the expansions which are 60 bucks a piece and there are 3 expasions, then an additional 15$ a month, but you can get a free demo at warcraft.com, if you want to try it.

Donald asks…

What is the diffrence between cake mania 2 (online) and cake mania 2 (nintendo ds)?

its because i bought cake mania 2 on Nintendo ds and i want to know whats the difference online and on video games!

Mac answers:

Cake mania 2 online was made by somone who wanted to copy the original cake mania for nintendo ds the one online can be traced to the computer it was created on and the owner can be sued for the copy right infingement . The originak cake mainia was for DS evn tho the have the same fetures.

Mandy asks…

Am I too old for video games?

I’m a 13 year old girl and I love to game on portable consoles. I have had several consoles such as the game-boy black and white and the first Nintendo DS. Now I’m thinking of getting a DS lite (not into all of the extra features on the DSi) or an old GBA SP. I’m leaning towards the Lite because I won’t have to order its games online and it can also play GBA games.

Anyways, here’s the problem; my parents think I’m too old for video games. But I know people in my area who are 13-21 that play the fun Nintendo games like I do! So I’ll have to pay for my own console. I have $500+ in the bank, so paying for it won’t be a problem. Does anyone here think I really am too old to be playing stuff like Pokemon and things like that? I don’t want to waste money on something I might grow out of.

Mac answers:

Apart from the few people who will think it is hot that you still play vdeogames and you are a girl: here is my case.

I am 20, and I am an avid gamer. I own 360, Wii and DS. Plenty of college games still even play Pokemon. I hang out with friends, drink at bars, I have a great job in Security and live with my girlfriend.

She is 22, a girl gamer and can hold her own on CoD Modern Warfare 2 and loves Fallout 3 but still has a heart for Nintendo games like Mario Galaxy. She has no idea what type advantage is on Pokemon but can play Guitar Hero well.

13? Girl Gamer? Pffffttttt, you are completely fine and normal. It is an ACTIVITY. Parents don’t get that this is a newer source of entertainment that they didn’t grow up with. The best they had was Cubert (a fine old school game) and Pac Man.

They are jealous! Keep playing girl!

Jenny asks…

I have a nintendo wii for xmas- what games are good, what accessories are good etc!!?

I have wii resort and wii sport games free with it. Are wii fits good? any games without the wii board worthwhile
yeh but im not interested in call of duty games that are on the xbox etc!!

Mac answers:

Boy… What’s with all the MicroSoft fanboys on here?

Wii Fit Plus (the newest version) is good, and fun to play, but… Just like someone else on here said, most people play it for a couple of weeks and then it doesn’t get used anymore. So, unless you are REALLY into using it for some light exercise (and you have the dedication to keep using it for a long period of time), it’s probably not worth getting.

Electronic Arts puts out a pretty good exercise game called “EA Sports Active”. You can use the balance board with the game, but it’s not necessary.

As far as regular games for the Wii that you might want to get… Some of the top sellers are:

1. Super Mario Galaxy (either 1 or 2)
2. Mario Kart Wii
3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
4. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (4 people can play all at once)
5. Guitar Hero or Rock Band
6. Epic Mickey (is not out yet, but comes out at the end of the month)
7. Animal Crossing

As far as accessories go, you are probably going to want to pick up at least one more Wii Remote (if you want to play 2-players at the same time), and at least one more Nunchuk controller. I think the “Wii Remote Plus” units are a good buy (and, they come with the “Motion Plus” stuff already built into the remote). The Nunchuk controller costs 20 bucks to buy one separately.

All of those little plastic attachments (like the golf club, tennis racket, baseball bat, etc…) are really NOT necessary at all. And… Some of those things even HAMPER the way that the remote works, so I would just stay away from those things.

Michael asks…

Can the MotionPlus Accessory for Nintendo Wii be used for fifa Soccer 2009 on wii?

Can It?and what other games can?

Mac answers:

Nope. At the moment there aren’t many games that support it since the technology is new.

Current Games – Grand Slam Tennis, Wii Sports Resort, Virtua Tennis 2009, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, NHL 2K10

Unreleased Games – Red Steel 2, Avatar, The Grinder, Possibly a future Zelda game

Sandy asks…

Can you recommend a shooter for Nintendo Wii?

Some one gave me a couple of those Wii Perfect Shot gun accessories for the Wii Remote but I don’t have any games that I can use them for.

What games would you suggest?

Mac answers:

The Conduit (highly recommend) – Best Shooter on teh Wii (yet underknown), wifi, co op, etc.
Resident Evil 4 Wii edition (warning uses A button for shooting)
Metroid Prime Trilogy (it was discontinued so get it before price raises/it becomes hard to find)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex
Call of Duty: World at War

Your Questions About Nintendo Console After Wii

John asks…

Are the prices of games consoles like Sony Playstation, Nintendo Wii and Sony XBox likely to drop after Christ?

Mac answers:

I take it you mean Christmas? I doubt it very much, the manufacturers keep the prices artificially high so that consumers are hoodwinked into thinking the products are of a superior quality!

again thanx for the help

Mac answers:

Did you get the legend of zelda for n64? If not get that. But i have heard a lot of people who like golden axe so mabey you could try that out. Go to gamespot.com or ign.com to check out the scores of some of these games.

Carol asks…

Nintendo Wii help?!?! does anyone know of a place except nintendo which can fix it.?

whenever i open my wii after a few seconds it says “an error has occured. press the eject button and remove the disc. then turn the wii console off and refer to the wii operations manual for help troubleshooting.”

Mac answers:

FIRST, you can probably just try to find some help at Best Buy, Target, Game Stop, or any other place you could of bought the Wii. SECOND: What game is it? Is it dirty? New? Or is there no disk in there. Because it sounds to me that the disk is just dirty.
SORRY I AM NOT A LOT OF HELP BUT AT LEAST YOU GOT SOMETHIN’!

Your Questions About Nintendo Dsi

Jenny asks…

Why did they make a nintendo dsi when you could just bring a camera?

Like its not likely for people to bring the nintendo dsi to take a picture they would more likely to bring a camera?

Mac answers:

They added a camera to have more fun with the DSI and plus you can record sound and put an SD card with music but the DSI can only play AAC file types for music.
The camera can also play games like where you’re using the camera between the screens to grab coins and you see yourself on the screen grabbing the coins or doing a certain pose. But you might like an idiot playing the “camera game” or whatever it’s called, in Public :)

Lizzie asks…

How do I get the Nintendo DSi web browser working?

How do I get into my web browser on my nintendo dsi?

I have my wireless internet settings set up in advanced settings. I’d be using a wireless router to connect to the internet.

There is no web browser icon in my main menu. Just wondering if i’ve done something wrong, need to download something, buy something, etc, to get it working?

Mac answers:

On your DSi menu, you can see an option to shop.Click that one.It will take you to the online DSi store where you can buy all of the junk* it has to offer.Locate the web browser, then download it for free.Once your done downloading it,go back to your DSi menu.It will be in a present.Click it to open it.There, you now have the DSi web browser.

The DSi browser it sh*t.I hope you don’t plan on actually using it.I won’t explain.I’ll let you use it so you can see how sh*tty it is.I guarantee you’ll close that browser in 4 minutes and never touch it again.

James asks…

Any one wanna here a story? ;pls enjoy?

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the
1930s ’40s, ’50s, ’60s and ‘70s!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright- colored, lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors, or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren’t overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were okay.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes! After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video-tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms……….WE HAD FRIENDS, and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts, and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our “own” good.
And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

Does anyone remember this video game Super Nintendo/Sega?

When I was younger I had a video game that was either from Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis and all I remember was that you roamed a pretty ghetto neighborhood as a pack of hooligan kids and I think you were preventing crime by helping out other nerds getting beat up/helping the elderly stuff like that. At least I think you were helping…it could very well be that you were causing the crime. I realize how ridiculous this all sounds but I’ve been explaining this game to my friends for weeks and none of them remember it. :/

Streets of rage or final fight?

Ruth asks…

Would say during the time when it was just nes, snes and sega genesis, games were just for kids?

Do you believe that was the case then? Now things, don’t really seem that way. It seems like ever since Nintendo 64, more older people became interested and then even more become interested when newer system consoles came. Did anyone notice that? Is it because the the new game consoles have more buttons? Is that what made older people more interested in video games? Or is it because of the better graphics? I remember back when it was just nes, snes and saga genesis consoles, it was rare for any adults to be interested in video games. Very few were. But now, not so rare anymore.

Mac answers:

It’s simple, the generation that grew up with those systems got older, and were still interested in games. Therefore game companies made games to cater to these older gamers.

That’s the simplest answer I can think of.

There are a million other factors to this, but I’m not going to explain all of them.

Thomas asks…

why makes people think the 360 is better than the PS3?

look, i’ll admit that Microsoft is slaughtering Sony financially (at least in the video game category), but what do people think makes the 360 better?

is it because the xbox has a cell broadband engine, free online, a controller with a tilt function, an RSX graphics chip, and the ability to play blue-ray DVDs? oh wait! it doesn’t have any of that!!!

the only things i’ve seen so far that give the 360 an advantage is vibration and Halo. and i for one would much rather have sixaxis and Resistance Fall of Man.

and please, don’t metion graphics in your answer, we all know they are the same

and one more thing, SHUT UP ABOUT THE Wii!!!
let real companies like Microsoft and Sony handle this generation. 8-bit consoles are dead! and why can’t Nintendo just use real discs?!

Mac answers:

Here are some of their arguments and why it’s flawed:

1. The PS3 costs 600, while the 360 costs 400. It’s true, but the PS3 has Blu-ray, Wi-Fi capabilities, various memory slots, HDMI output, etc. For the 360 to get all those PS3 capabilities, it will cost well over 600 bucks. Just the HD-DVD add-on player is 200 bucks.

2. The PS3 graphics and 360 graphics looks the same: True, but they’re comparing 1st gen launch graphics of the PS3 to the 2nd gen graphics of the 360. To make it even, compare the PS3 games (Resistance, Virtua Fighter 5, etc) to the 360′s launch games (Cameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4). Which games look better.

3. 360 has better games than the PS3. True, for now, but what about the future? The PS3 just launched, so don’t expect a lot of great games. The 360 has been out for over a year, so it should have better games than the PS3.

4. 360 has more games than the PS3. Again, the 360 has been out for over a year, while the PS3 just launched, so don’t expect the PS3 to have a lot of games early on. Experts predict that the PS3 will have the most 3rd party support, which means it will have more games.

One final thing, throw away the rumble because Sony and Immersion just settle their lawsuit. Pretty soon, the Sixaxis will have tilt function as well as rumble.

Nintendo doesn’t use any real disks because it’s trying to prevent software piracy. Can you blame them? Just look at all these questions about how to use Nintendo ROMS on the PSP or how to play Nintendo games on the computer.

Maria asks…

wii losing money?

ok so i like playing video games but i dunno a lot about how things go online…so i was wondering how nintendo can have all this free online thing.
like for example if u send a message to some1 in the other side of the world…doesnt that cost them money? i compare that to txtin, so i dunno.
and i was also wondering if u guys knew y the 360 charge for online play and wii doesnt

yea its a random topic but im bored..

Mac answers:

It doesnt cost nintendo a penny because they are using your internet to send the message. The 360 charges you for online play because you are using their servers, and because they can. They don’t have to. I think the nintendo browser is opera, which is freeware that you can download on any computer.

Susan asks…

Are preowned Nintendo Wii’s good?

What are your opinions on preowned Nintendo Wii’s? I’ve got some money coming in, and I don’t want to spend all that money on a brand new Wii, and will the preowned Wii’s come with the Nunchucks and controllers, and will they come with a free game if you buy from a video game store? I trust buying a preowned Nintendo Wii from a place like Gamestop but not from craigslist. I just want to know if this is the right route to go when buying a Wii. I got a lot of the older systems, Sega Genesis, Original Nintendo, and Super Nintendo, and now I will have the money to upgrade. I’m in my 20s and not into online gaming and I’ve played the Wii before, and like the sports package, that’s why I’m not getting an Xbox. Just a newer system to have around.

Mac answers:

Pre-Owned Wii System come with a Wii remote and A Nunchuck. They do not come with any games (Wii Sports is not included, you will have to buy it separately. You can get it used for $10).

Gamestop is great place to go for Used games, especially since they often have deals on other games and trade in offers. And you actually know what you are getting from Gamestop.
